One rule governs everything on this page. We do not invent discounts, and we do not predict prices. Every historical figure here is a specific price that a named publication tracked on a specific date in late 2025, cited in the sources at the bottom. What that history tells you is the shape of a good deal on each product - which brands cut deep, which cut a little, and which barely move - not what any product will cost in November 2026. If a number is not on a buy button or attributed to a source, it is not on this page.
What historically discounts in smart home security
The pattern across the 2025 sales was consistent enough to plan around, and it splits by who owns the brand.
Amazon-owned brands discount deepest and most predictably.Ring, Blink and Echo are Amazon hardware, and Amazon runs its own Black Friday pricing on them. In Amazon's official 2025 Ring sale, 9to5Toys tracked the Ring Indoor Cam at $25 against a $50 list, the Ring Battery Doorbell Plus at $80 against $150, and the Ring Alarm 5-Piece Kit at $100 against $200 - cuts of roughly a third to a half. On the Echo side, the same outlet listed the Echo Dot at $32 against $50 and the Echo Hub at $120 against $180, and noted that the Echo Hub price was the same $119.99 it had tracked during both of Amazon's Prime Day events earlier that year. That last detail matters: for Amazon hardware, the November low is often the same low that already appeared in July and October.
eufy runs brand-wide sales that recur.eufy's no-subscription cameras and doorbells are the site's most-recommended picks, and their sale behavior is unusual: Kotaku reported the eufy SoloCam S340 at $120 against a $200 list in April 2026 and described it as matching the Black Friday discount in "another clearance round." PCWorld tracked the eufy Floodlight Camera E340 at $139.99 (36% off) over Cyber Monday 2025. The practical reading is that eufy's Black Friday price is a good price, but it is not a once-a-year price.
Budget camera brands go low - and Black Friday is not always the floor. PCWorld reported the Wyze Cam v4 two-pack at $38 on December 2, 2025, calling it "a new lowest price and a better deal than what we saw on either Black Friday or Cyber Monday." Reolink ran a brand-wide sale it advertised as up to 55% off from November 25 to December 1, 2025. Cheap cameras get cheaper in November, but the very cheapest price can land the week after.
Smart locks discount modestly, and the premium ones rarely.Over the 2025 Black Friday weekend, 9to5Mac tracked the Schlage Encode Plus at $250 against a $330 list and the Yale Assure Lock 2 Plus from $203 against $310. The Level Lock+ reached $249 against $329, which 9to5Toys called "a very rare discount" at an all-time low. The Aqara U100 was listed at $120 against $190. So locks do move in November - but by roughly a fifth to a third, not by half, and the top-tier locks move least often.
Hubs and sensors get a brand promotion rather than a retailer fire sale. Aqara's own 2025 Black Friday promotion put the Hub M3 at $99.99 against $130. That is the typical shape for hub makers: a manufacturer-run event in the 20-40% range rather than the half-off pricing Amazon applies to its own devices.
What rarely discounts - and what a sale never touches
Three things stayed stubborn in 2025 and are worth naming so you do not wait on them for nothing. First, Google Nest hardwaremoved less than the Amazon brands: PCWorld's Cyber Monday list had the Nest Cam Indoor at 25% off and the Nest Cam Outdoor at 20% off, against the 40-50% cuts on Ring and Blink in the same article. Second, premium smart locks - the Level Lock+ in particular - discounted rarely enough that the outlets tracking them flagged the drop as unusual. Third, and most important, the subscription. No hardware sale changes what Ring Home, Blink's plan or Google Home Premium costs per month, and the fee is the number the sale headline never mentions. We also want to be clear about what we could not verify. We found no reliable tracked Black Friday history for wired PoE camera systems like the Reolink RLK8-800B4 or the ANNKE 8-channel kit, so we make no claim about how they behave in November. If we cannot cite it, we do not say it.
Buy now or wait for November? Our call by product class
The table below is the practical output of the history above. It is a judgement per category, not a price prediction, and the reasoning is spelled out so you can disagree with it.
Echo speakers and Echo Hub - wait. This is the single most predictable discount in the category, Amazon controls it, and the low often repeats from the October Prime event. Unless you need a voice speaker this week, September is the wrong month to pay list.
Ring and Blink cameras, doorbells and alarm kits - wait if you can.The 2025 cuts on Amazon's own Ring sale were the deepest on this page. The exception is a genuine security need - a door with no camera on it today is worth more than the difference between now and November.
eufy cameras and doorbells - buy when the button shows a real cut, whenever that is.eufy's sale price recurs through the year, so the question is not "is it November" but "is the live price on the button well under list." Our buy buttons show the strike-through list price and percentage when Amazon reports one, which is exactly the check to make.
Budget cameras (Tapo, Wyze) - buy now if you need one.They are already inexpensive enough that the wait saves a few dollars, and in Wyze's case the best 2025 price landed after Cyber Monday anyway.
Smart locks - wait for a modest cut, but do not hold out for half off. Expect a fifth to a third off the mainstream Wi-Fi and Home Key locks, and treat any drop on a Level lock as rare. A lock is also one of the few products here where installing it in daylight before winter has real value - do not let the sale calendar push the job into December.
Hubs and sensors - wait. Nothing in your home stops working while you wait for an Aqara or SmartThings promotion, and hub makers ran their own events in 2025. The one caveat is a Thread border router you need today because a Matter device will not pair without one - that is a fix, not a shopping decision.
Wired PoE systems - no call. We have no tracked history, so we will not invent one. Buy on need.
How to tell a real Black Friday deal from a fake one
The oldest trick in the November catalog is a "was" price nobody ever paid. The defense is a baseline, and that is what the buy buttons on this page are for. Every price on this site comes from Amazon's own API, refreshed daily and stamped with the date we checked; if our data is more than 48 hours old, the number disappears rather than going stale. Note the price on the button today. When November arrives, a deal is only a deal if it is meaningfully under what you saw in September - not under a list price that was raised in October. Three more checks: confirm the sale listing is the same model and pack size as the one you priced (two-packs and bundles are where the comparisons go wrong), read the monthly fee before the sale price, and ignore any percentage that is not next to a real strike-through figure on the retailer's own page.
